Air pollution is a serious hazard when on the road or just spending time out of home. We face pollution on a daily basis - from vehicles, factories, as well as dust from construction sites. Whether itâs traveling long distances or the daily commute, air pollution always poses a serious threat to our health.
Air pollution can potentially cause harmful health effects, such as eye, nose, throat/ lung irritation, coughing, sneezing, runny nose and shortness of breath in the short term. Exposure to fine particles, commonly referred to as particulate matter (PM), ranges from PM 2.5 to PM 10 and is the most dangerous. When inhaled over a long period it can cause medical conditions such as asthma, heart disease and even lung cancer.
